House Ilma Grove Home

In Decoesfera we love to show you houses of all kinds, although if you look what predominate are the flats. Today I bring you a two-storey villa, the House Ilma Grove, designed by the firm Andrew Maynard Architects that have used recycled bricks and a design that cares for the environment.

Beyond ecological details, this is one of the houses that I like most of all that I have seen in the almost four years that I’ve been writing for this blog. See how out we have a cube with several starters and windows that make that you open to the outside creating interesting spaces.

We began our tour of the salon, which is the room that is glimpsed through the windows. What I like about this part of the House is that the windows open wide and not with sliding door, that constrains you to always have a covered part, but that you can leave it all open out to the garden without obstacles.

We see a great space that have been created for the area bounded by two sofas tertulia They seem comfortable but that for my taste are too separate. We can observe how light added to this room with a skylight that separates this kitchen environment. This window in the ceiling (which is probably complicated to clean and keep clean) is a great find since, although the House has more openings, it sheds light all day.

I like a lot the combination of colors, kitchen red contrasts with the blue of the cabinets that give to the lounge area, that I just do not convince, but are a find to save space in a House with few walls where to put things. Observe how been here one rises to the top floor by a spiral staircase, which saves space and which does not prevent the passage of light to be metal.

In another view of the living room that you have in the Gallery, you can see how television wall, the opposite that we see in the image above, it has floral wallpaper and has been front of television furniture in wood of beech. Perhaps I would have left or the brick wall or would have put a plain color, since the environment is quite striking as to require more colors in this area. In addition it would have placed a table in the center of the gathering area, although I am afraid that this is a personal hobby each one chooses.

The dining area is located in front of the kitchen bar, and is also distinguished from by the upper window, by a change on the ground that in this case is of planks against the terrazzo of the salon. See how simple lights in the kitchen were chosen to illuminate the part in which prepare food while that industrial-type lamp has been placed on the dining table.

The combination of tables and Dining chairs I love them, they are a very nice model that adapt perfectly to all environments where you wish to place. Under the kitchen bar stools provide a great space to make breakfast fast or for meals “battle”.

To me I like this type of houses, enabling you to have a great space below loft type common areas while above fit the bedrooms and other rooms in the House that does not want to show visitors. The modern style with natural materials make this place comfortable and functional, not to mention how the architects oriented the House so that the solar panels of the roof were as efficient as possible.

I encourage that can give you a tour of the lower Gallery and to see the details because the Ilma Grove House is full of ideas that it can be adapted to your homes.
